Robert Roy McConnell

Robert R. "Bob" McConnell, 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. Born on April 19, 1949, in Alliance, Ohio, Bob was the beloved son of Frank H. and Dorothy M. McConnell.
A proud graduate of Marlington Highschool's class of 1967, he began a long and dedicated career that included positions with General Tire in Alliance, Ohio, East Manufacturing in Randolph, Ohio, and later as a skilled trailer mechanic with Winn-Dixie in Sarasota, Florida, and Dayton Freight in Greenwood, Indiana.
Bob was a devoted father to his two children, Daughter Kelli McConnell (Vernon), and son Robert (Robby) McConnell. A loving Grandfather to six grandchildren; Christian McConnell, Brianna Mossgrove (Tarr), Morgan McConnell, Hanna Mossgrove (Brahler), Jaimi Mossgrove, and Garrett McConnell; Great Grandfather to Cade Tarr, and loving owner of Mac the Corgi.
Bob enjoyed spending his time with family and friends talking, watching football, and sitting on his patio watching the sunset fall over the pond behind his house and the ducks prepare for the night. He loved camping and sitting around a fire with family and friends having a good drink, telling jokes, and talking about good times and experiences.
Bob is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchild; brother, Donnie McConnell; sister, Karen McConnell (Ferrell); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; Mac the Corgi, and his first love Darlene Battershell (Ginther).
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard (Rock), Keith, Frank, and sisters Judy, and Diane.
Per Bob's wishes, there will be no services held. A private family visitation has been conducted. Bob's ashes will be laid to rest in the Gulf waters of Bradenton, Florida at a later date by his children and family.
