Nancy Korst Smith

YOUNGSTOWN ~ Nancy Korst Smith passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 14, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Nancy was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, and was a daughter of Ira M. and Katherine Evans Korst on March 2, 1931.

Nancy was an Interior decorator earning her degree in design from Miami University, Oxford, OH and worked at Goldstein's, Haney's and Ethan Allen's furniture stores. She was a member of St. John's Church and Friends of Mill Creek Park. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, listening to classical music and reading.

Nancy leaves a son Matthew Smith of Youngstown; three daughters, Katy and her husband Dr. Ernest Borghetti of Hubbard, Jennifer and her husband Bill Stark of Girard and Barbara and her husband Mark Barnhart of Avon Lake; eight grandchildren, Andreen, Brad, E.J., Mark, Jenna, Matthew, Tommy, Anna and six great grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Matthew Smith III whom she married March 22, 1951, and her parents.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home, a memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM.
