Nancy Kristene Stapley, 77, of Danville, CA, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, due to complications from open-heart surgery.
Nancy was born to Robert and Lorraine McMann on March 7, 1948, in Culver City, CA. The oldest of four children, she grew up in Reseda, CA, and married Stephen Stapley on January 25, 1969. They were married for 56 years.
Nancy lived a life full of love for her family, her faith, and her passion for music. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life and found a profound peace and hope in the gospel. She spent most of her life singing and playing piano. First with her father and sisters, then throughout her life with various choirs. One of the great joys of her life was spending time with her children and their friends accompanying the choirs at Monte Vista High School in Danville. She had an unassuming, comforting presence that put everyone at ease.
Nancy is survived by her husband Steve, their 7 children and their spouses, plus their 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Eileen Yoder and Laura Carr, and many dear extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Lorraine McMann, and her brother, Paul "Brooks" McMann.
A memorial service will be held at the Alamo building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 10th, 2025, at 11 am (2949 Stone Valley Rd. Alamo, CA). Flowers can be sent to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on the day of the memorial service. If you are sending flowers, please schedule them to arrive by 10:00 am.

Thank you dear sister for your example. Thank you eternally for your sweet note, penned decades, that was a pure testimony and distillation of your spirit. Not too many days after I found my testimony return and I embraced the Gospel and all that Heavenly Father's Kingdom here on earth has to offer. I love you and all that you have done for me. John

I love you dear Nancy. Your legacy blue eyes and dark hair beautifully display your Scottish heritage. Your kind hearted smile smote everyone who ever saw it.
Ever more deeply your understanding of faith in our Savior primed you for the reunion you anticipated with courage and hope.
I hope and pray that our future reunion will be genuine with the love, faith and gifts we shared. Especially yours.
I love you dear Nancy.
