Paxton/ Fort Myers, FL-Nancy Emma Stine, Paxton MA, and Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, May 27, 2023, at the age of 80.
Nancy Emma Tessein was born on June 22, 1942, in Trenton, NJ to parents Frances Hancock and Donald Tessein. Nancy was a farm girl who fell in love at the age of 14 with Robert John Stine. Both Nancy and Rob graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1960. Upon graduating high school Nancy chose to attend Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs NY partly because it was only a two-hour drive from Rob's college. On June 12, 1964, she married Robert John Stine and became Nancy Emma Stine. The two of them spent the better part of the next five decades together until he passed away in 2015.
While at Skidmore, Nancy became passionate about teaching and pursued a degree in elementary education. She was a primary school teacher focusing on mostly first through fourth grade. Her career saw her teach in Massachusetts, Hawaii, Tennessee, and Missouri as she and her husband moved around the country. Nancy took a break from teaching to raise her three children; however, when her children grew up and became more independent she returned to the classroom. Nancy earned a Master's Degree in Teaching from Worcester State University in Worcester Massachusetts and ultimately finished her career teaching in the Shrewsbury Public Schools in Shrewsbury Massachusetts.
Nancy was a world traveler, an amazing cook, and a wine enthusiast but most importantly Nancy Stine was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and amazing grandmother. She leaves behind her daughter, Nancy Lynn Stine, and her sons, Ryan William Harvey and Matthew John Harvey of Fort Myers, FL; her son, Robert Murray Stine and his long-time partner Allison Brewster of Edison NJ, her other daughter, Melissa Marie Edwards and her husband, Benjamin Edwards and their daughters, Sadie Alexandria Edwards and Juliette Emma Louise Edwards of Fairfield, CT, and her sister Joan Tessein of Princeton NJ, as well as an extended network of family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Nancy's life on June 17th at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Paxton, 1 Church Street, followed by burial at Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. A reception will follow at the family home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association.

Stan and I live in Nancy´s neighborhood in Fort Myers and have always enjoyed our friendship with Nancy. We are going to miss her. She was such a vibrant person with such a love for life. When I think of Nancy I think of her laughter and her love of dancing which we did together many times at parties or events in our community. We extend our deepest sympathy to Nancy´s children, grandchildren and all who loved Nancy. She will be sorely missed.

We were so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. She was such a caring, wonderful person and lifetime friend starting in Hawaii. It's hard for us to believe both Surfer (our nickname for you dad) and your mom are not with us. Our heart goes out to you and your whole family.
