Nancy Bedford Vallejo

Nancy Bedford Vallejo, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Rosegate Village.

She was born on August 13, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Nell Azleen (White) Bedford.

Nancy was a sweet and kind-hearted woman whose gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Though she faced lifelong challenges, she met life with grace, a strong work ethic, and a caring heart.

Nancy was a devoted and reliable employee of Goodwill Industries, where she worked faithfully for more than 40 years. Her dedication and pride in her work were a source of accomplishment for her and admiration from those around her. She was also a longtime member of Beech Grove Independent Nazarene Church, where she found comfort in her faith and fellowship.

In her free time, Nancy enjoyed reading and especially treasured the time she spent with her family. She was a loving and attentive aunt who shared a close bond with her nieces and nephews, who brought her great joy and affection throughout her life.

Those left to cherish Nancy's memory include her two sisters, Betty Jo (Eugene) Smith of Greenfield and Linda N. (Tom) Davis of Indianapolis; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Bedford of Peoria, Illinois, and Linda Bedford of Seminole, Florida; a brother-in-law, Charles Smith of Nebraska City, Nebraska; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Ray Bedford and Robert "Bob" N. Bedford, and by a sister, Patricia Mae Smith.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with entombment at Washington Park East Cemetery.
