Dodge City - Nancy K. Wenzel, 81, died July 26, 2025 at Trinity Manor in Dodge City. She was born on May 24, 1944 in Emporia, the daughter of Pete and Flossy Schoeck.

Nancy grew up in Emporia and was a graduate of Emporia High School. She was a very forgiving person and never hesitated to help someone out. Throughout her early life, she worked several jobs. Later, she started her own trucking company and worked there until retirement. There would be days with long hours and many miles but she was still eager to come home to her family.

Nancy cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. She was not one to request anything for herself but was always willing to assist in any way possible. Her presence was a source of support, even if it was simply through a comforting embrace. Her character was genuinely unique – spirited, courageous, and kind-hearted. Her family held her in deep affection, and she reciprocated that love. Nancy will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Nancy is survived by one daughter, Laura Carr (Michael) of Arizona City, Arizona; two sons Rex Beemer (Wendy) of Dodge City and Mike Wilson (Toyna) of Stafford; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack.

A private family service will be held at a later date in Emporia. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
