Nancylee Martin

Nancylee Martin, 78, of Hampstead, NC passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025.

She was born September 23,1947 in Essex, NJ to Ruth Feick and Arthur Small. She grew up in NJ and began her career after graduating cosmetology school at a local hair salon. Later, she followed a new path and became a dental hygienist for years. Although, shy, she was devoted to her family and always followed them on whatever adventure life took them. After time, she started a new career as a health care provider, following numerous families.

Forming a special bond with one family in particular, learning life long lessons of faith, love and trust. When her own health had becoming too challenging she retired and began to enjoy the quietness of her townhome, often spending time with family and friends.

In 2016, she moved to NC to be with some of her family, where she lived out the rest of her beautiful days! She enjoyed going for walks outside if she could but more often in the mall or grocery store aisles when the weather did not cooperate. One of her favorite pastimes was people watching while eating dinner in her car, the simple joys in life made her happy. She loved learning stories about new people she met. She was always remembered as one of the sweetest and kindest ladies anyone could meet. One thing her family admired most was her ability of making others feel special. She found joy in the beauty of gardens and butterflies, they were her favorite. Often soft nature sounds and bird music could be heard playing in her apartment, it made her happy she would say.

She was truly an amazing woman who endured many different challenges in life and even though sometimes her insecurities would take over she found the strength to keep moving forward.

She is preceded in death by her mother Ruth Feick, father Arthur Small, sister Ruthann Small, her brother James Small and her 2 grandchildren Phil and Zachery.

Left to cherish her lasting memory, her 3 daughters Christine Martin, Carie Martin and Elizabeth Casey as well as her 5 grandchildren Dylan, Rylee, Emery, Greyson and Lilliana.

Per her wishes a private family memorial will be held in her honor.
