Nanette Olson

Nanette Olson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, passed away on November 23, 2024 in Westland, Michigan, leaving behind a legacy filled with love, strength, and cherished memories. Born on August 8, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Nanette was known to all as a warm and nurturing individual who had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel special and valued.

With her heart full of love, she devoted herself to her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Olson. Together, they shared countless beautiful moments and created a home filled with laughter and warmth. Nanette was the proud mother of three daughters: Karrie Mellin, Marie Coulter, Josette Lambert, and their late brother Richard Allen Olson Jr., who brought her enormous joy and pride throughout her life.

Nanette’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Natalie Augustine, Amber Augustine, Rob Augustine, Ashley Wagner, Desiree Wagner, Bradley Dixon, Raymond Terry, Megan Mellin, Michael Mellin Jr., Jerilen DiRubio, Gunner Coulter and Ashley Olson. Each of them carried a piece of her spirit, and she delighted in watching them grow, often sharing her wisdom and enthusiasm for life, leaving a lasting impact on their hearts.

In addition to her immediate family, Nanette held a special place in the lives of her siblings: sisters Collette Mincel, Paulette Hampton, Michelle Gray, Cherie Tocco, Renee Maijala, and Jackie Sever, alongside her brothers Phillip Brule, Dennis Brule, Jean Brule, and Gilbert Brule. Their bond strengthened over the years, creating an irreplaceable support system built on love and shared experiences.

Nanette was also preceded in death by her parents, Mary Jane Brule and Bernard Brule, two guiding lights in her life, and her siblings, including Diane Tripplett, Joane Grabow, Dale Brule, Virgil Brule, and Brian Brule. Though they are no longer with us, their memories will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved them.

The family invites all who loved Nanette to remember her with a Memorial Gathering at The Husband Family Funeral Home in Westland, Michigan, on December 8, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 PM. This will be a time for family and friends to come together, offering love and support as they celebrate a remarkable life that touched so many souls.

Nanette Olson will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit radiates in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege to know her, reminding us to cherish each moment and live life to the fullest.
