Nanette Powers Habig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service - Charlotte on Dec. 24, 2023.
Nanette Rae Powers Habig, 60, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Peoria, Illinois, and was the cherished middle daughter of Raymond Powers and Lois (Jean) Ladley Powers. Nanette graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria in 1981 and furthered her education at Purdue University, earning a Bachelor's in Social Work in 1985. It was during her time at Purdue that she met her husband of 35 years, Philip Habig.
After college, Nan and her husband resided in California until the birth of their first daughter, Lauren, after which they moved back to the Midwest to be closer to family and for the birth of their second daughter, Erin, before settling in North Carolina for her career. Nan was incredibly dedicated to her profession and held the position of Vice President/Lead Scrum Master at Wells Fargo, where her passion and dedication shone brightly.
Described by her daughters as 'the smartest lady ever', Nanette had a zest for life. She adored cooking, experimenting with new recipes, baking delicious treats, nurturing her green thumb in the yard, diving into books, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family. The highlight of her year was the annual family trip to Hilton Head.
Nanette was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Lois Powers. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Philip Habig; daughters Lauren Habig and Erin Habig; sister Lynanne Powers Dunnavant; brother Richard Lee Powers, along with many nieces and nephews. Her furry companions held a special place in her heart, especially her beloved Malti-Poo, Piper, and her grandpuppies, Lily, Ash and Gia.
Services to honor Nan's life will be held in Charlotte on Friday, December 29th, at 2:00 PM at St. Andrews Methodist Church. Family visitation will precede the service by one hour. Following the service, a small reception will be held at the church.
Nan's love, warmth, and vibrant spirit will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
