Nanette "Nanny" DeWitt VanDevender, 69, a resident of Kerens, passed from this life Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Thursday, December 22, 1955, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late Robert DeWitt and Carrie Braham DeWitt. On December 28, 1982, she married Robert Shelton VanDevender who survives at home.
Also left to cherish her memory are three children, Amanda Lynn VanDevender of Elkins, Bobbi Jo VanDevender of Elkins, Willow "Bug" VanDevender of Kerens, grandchildren, Michael Corder and wife Makayla, Levi Corder and companion Alexis Lane, Sydney Jo Wamsley and fiancé Levi Brown, great-grandchildren, Addyson and Colt Corder, siblings, Pamela Gifford and husband Jim of Montrose, Bobby DeWitt and wife Kay of Kingwood, David DeWitt and wife Debbie of Bayard, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was one sister, Ruth Christine Shaffer.
Nanny was a graduate of Union Complex High School. She had been employed at Teet's Meat Processing for twenty-five years. Nanny liked cooking, traveling, and loved to shop. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 11 am until 1 pm, the funeral hour. Harold Mullenax will officiate and interment will follow at the VanDevender Cemetery on Elk Mountain.
