Carol Lynn Powers, 52, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Sunday, February 22, 2026, at home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.

Left to cherish Carol's memory are two sisters, Donna Powers of Elkins, Amie Williams and husband Josh of Montrose, daughter, Nicole "Nikki" Simmons of Hundred, paternal aunt, Rita Blake of VA, maternal aunt and uncle, Chris Matin of AZ, and Terry Rexrode of MD, nieces and nephews, Chasity Simmons, Amanda Gordon and husband Greg, Tasha Simmons, Emory "A.J." Preceding Carol in death besides her parents and husband, were paternal grandparents Dorie and Dovie Powers, maternal grandparents, Carl and Fannie Rexrode, and nephew, Alex Galford.

Carol obtained attended the schools of Randolph County, obtained her GED in Mineral County, and then attended Potomac State College to be an art therapist. In her younger years, she was a tomboy that enjoyed playing football and was the first to teach her sisters how to throw a football. She was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Carol collected Coca-Cola and Mickey Mouse memorabilia, enjoyed playing cornhole, camping, and spending time with the family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5 pm until 7 pm, the funeral hour. Rev. Nathan Bennett and Rev. Tristan Tenney will officiate. Carol's request for cremation will then be honored.
