William Shaw Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Feb. 17, 2026.
William "Bill" Shaw, 70, of Valley Bend, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born Saturday, July 30, 1955, in Buckhannon, a son of the late William Glenn Shaw and Eleena "Pearl" Shaw. On October 6, 2010, in Valley Bend, he married the former Nancy Diane Edwards who survives at home. They had celebrated sixteen years of marriage.

Left to cherish his memory is one son, Travis Shaw and wife Kara of Jonesville, MI, beloved grandchildren, Isabella and Daisy Shaw; step-grandchildren, Courtney and Kristin

Cross; two sisters, Carol Brenwalt and husband Don of Valley Bend, Martha Adams of Moose Lake, MN; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephew, one stepson, James Dowdle; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Cross; and a daughter of his heart, Diana Mills, of Morgantown; a very special friend whom Bill thought of as a son, Zach Witsoe.

In addition to his parents, he was welcomed into Heaven by one sister, Ina Koon; and two

brothers-in-law, Stan Koon and Allen Adams.

Bill was a master carpenter by trade, having built many houses throughout the region over the years. He also served his community as a bus driver for the Randolph County Board of

Education. A man of deep service, Bill dedicated much of his spare time as a volunteer

firefighter for the Huttonsville-Mill Creek and Tygart Valley Fire Departments. He was an avid outdoorsman; Bill found his greatest peace and joy spending time at his cabin with his wife.

Bill's request for cremation was honored, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
