Naomi Lee Massey Baas passed away June 3, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 91. She was born September 4, 1933 in Lisbon, Alabama.

As a young person Naomi asked God into her heart. As she said, “I will never forget the tender special love when this happened.” Adopting the song “Others” as her motto she said, “Although I failed so many times, I kept trying and praying.”

Naomi attended Asbury University in Wilmore, KY where she met her husband, Harry. After finishing seminary and with two daughters in tow, Harry & Naomi moved to Florida. Harry was ordained in the Florida United Methodist Conference, and they spent the next 37 years serving 7 different churches throughout Florida.

Naomi’s special gift was her caring, compassionate and nurturing nature. As a minister’s wife, she diligently served every church alongside her husband. There was a special love she had for all her family and beloved friends. She will be missed by everyone.

Naomi was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Rev. Harry C Baas, Jr. and parents, Rev. Cecil Aubrey Massey, Lyda Lee Wimberly Massey; brother Lamar Massey and sister Bobbie Repaz
