Natalia Dmytrenko, 98 of Des Plaines, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Beloved Wife of the late Stanislaw.
Born in Ukraine, Natalia left at 16 years old to visit her sister in Germany. The Second World War began, and she never returned to her home in Kiev. At 18, Natalia married Stanislaw. In 1950, they entered the United States through Ellis Island in New York Harbor. After becoming a permanent resident of the USA, they moved within the Ukrainian community in Chicago, where Natalia raised 3 children and worked at Brach's Candy Company for 38 years, until Stanislaw passed in 1987.
Natalia is survived by her children the late John (Laura), Tamara (Michael) and the late Olga (the late William); her grandchildren Dina (Mike), Julie (Martin), Alex, Jennifer (Simon) and Elizabeth (Tim) and great-grandchildren Annaliese, Aleksandr, Damian, Nikolas, Ryan, Matthew, Jackson and Stella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are to gather for the Visitation Monday, January 12, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake Street, Addison, IL 60101. Proceeding to St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 300 Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale, IL 60108. For a Funeral Mass celebrated promptly at 12:00 PM. Interment Private.
