Natalie Austin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Riposta Funeral Home - Belfast on Mar. 10, 2026.
It is with shattered hearts that we share that Natalie Mae Austin, 23, of Searsport, Maine, passed away on March 4, 2026. She was born on April 9, 2002, and was a most cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend.

A beautiful woman inside and out, Natalie was sassy, sharp, and most wonderfully and unapologetically herself. Natalie never took herself too seriously and she had a silly side that was a gift to see and feel. When she shared that side with you, you felt the depth of her presence and love. She had a beautiful way of making you feel like you were the only person in the room, even if you were one of hundreds. If she loved you, you knew it. She was never shy about sharing that. Her loyalty to those she loved was unwavering and fierce.

Natalie's proudest role was being a sister. She was, is and will forever be, fiercely protective of her siblings, Elora, Maddie, Brayden and Gabby. She had a special bond with each of them and being their sister was one of the great joys of her life. Sisters by chance, best friends by choice, Maddie and Natalie spent many evenings in the car, getting away from the world, windows down and music up, diving deep into whatever their latest favorite songs were and talking about everything and nothing at all. With Brayden, Elora and Gabby, Natalie cherished one on one time, movie marathons, snuggles, dinner dates; quality time was key. She loved poking at Brayden with a good joke or sharing in a good sister-brother roasting session. She made time for them, even as life got busy and visits sometimes turned to phone calls, her love for them was unwavering. We know she will find a way to still be with them, guide them and love them in her own special way.

Natalie was a proud Mom to Lenny. One cannot talk about Natalie and not talk about her love for the fluffy, orange and white bundle of fur and chaos that was the love of her life. In saving Lenny, Natalie was also saved. His loud purrs, silliness and bedtime snuggles, healed wound after wound and their love for each other was immense, soft and everything they both needed.

In recent years, Natalie found her passion as a stylist and she found her home at The Mane Room. She loved her job and the ladies she worked with. She was creative and engaging with her clients, bringing not just her skill but her vibrant personality to every appointment. Natalie had a talent for making both her regulars and those new to her chair feel seen, cared for, and important. She had a gentle way of putting people at ease, and many left her chair feeling lighter, more confident, and truly themselves.

A passionate concert-goer, Natalie lived for live music, shared moments with friends, and the feeling of being fully alive in a crowd that loved the same songs she did. Those who knew her will remember her quick wit, bold honesty, the calm comfort of her presence, and the way she showed up fiercely for the people she loved. She had the best friends and cherished every moment with them. She lived her life fully and her friends were an irreplaceable key to the life she lived. She loved each and every one of them dearly.

As a daughter, we couldn't have asked for more. Dwaine and I will never be able to find enough words to describe the way she loved us, lit up our life and how she made us feel. We are so very proud and honored to be her parents.

Momma loves you, Nat Nat. I'm only one call away – Superman has nothing on me.

A celebration of Natalie's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, with visiting from 12-1pm followed by a memorial service at 1pm at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, ME. The family invites everyone who knew Natalie to honor her by sharing their favorite story of her, wearing something that reminds them of her, her style or a shared memory. We invite you to come as you are, to laugh, to love and be a little feisty-just as she would have wanted.
