Nathalie Taranto
Nathalie Joy Sattler Taranto, age 92, of Easton, wife of the late Raymond S. Taranto, died Sunday, September 28th, 2025 at her home. She was born in Burke, South Dakota on September 22nd, 1933 to the late Constantine F. and Emma Kautz Sattler. She attended Naper, NE schools (grades one through eight in a one-room country school); Naper High School, Wayne State Teachers College, The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree and as a Registered Nurse. Having taken a position at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, CT maternity department, she moved on to become the OB/GYN instructor for the then Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing, then on to the office of a team of private obstetricians. Having been granted a full scholarship, she studied at Teachers College Columbia University, earning a Master's in Education degree. An active wife and mother, after moving to Easton in 1974, Nathalie volunteered in the schools, the Congregational Church of Easton, the Easton Historical Society, American Association University Women, Red Cross blood drives, the Easton Public Library and at the polls. Nathalie loved her family, friends and community, arts and crafts (quilting, fashion sewing) gardening and music (opera, ballet). She is survived by her son, Paul R. Taranto and his wife, Claudia Cuevas de Taranto, and her grandson, Alexander Luis Taranto, all of Easton.
Her ashes will be interred with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at the convenience of the family. Those who wish to make donations in her name may do so to: The Easton Public Library, 691 Morehouse Road, Easton, CT, 06612.

My Deepest Sympathy. What a wonderful woman she was, full of life and so inquisitive.
I will remember all our lively chats, she so loved all of you.
