Nathan (Nate) Adam, a beloved resident of Lander, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 10, 1942, in Bakersfield, California, to Gerald and Evelyn Adam, Nate developed a passion for woodworking early in life. At 19, he began his career in a cabinet shop, mastering the art of cabinet building, which remained his cherished hobby even after retirement.
Nate was an adventurous spirit, often enjoying rides in his side-by-side vehicle, searching for what he fondly called "pretty" rocks. His love for exploration and nature was well-known among family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Carole, his daughter Natalie and her husband Brian, his son Tom and his wife Kathi, his sister Geralyn, as well as 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Nate served as a police officer for the Lander Police Department from 1968 to 1972, where he was the handler of Chopper, a search and rescue and narcotics dog. Chopper, trained with the support of the Lander community, earned the prestigious Lassie Gold Award, a testament to their successful partnership.
