Nathan Alan Bloyer, age 43, of Berkley, passed away on July 3, 2024.
Nathan was born on February 15, 1981, to John and Diane Bloyer (née Steventon). He grew up in Troy, attended Birmingham schools, and graduated from Seaholm High School in 1999. Nathan furthered his education at Northwestern Michigan College and Oakland Community College, earning an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts in 2005. Post-graduation, he worked as a freelance photographer assistant at Illumini Studio in Madison Heights, MI, and as an assistant photographer for Midcoast Studio in Troy, MI. His academic journey continued at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, where he enrolled in the Professional Automotive Modeling Program and graduated in 2008.
Throughout his career, Nathan worked as a digital sculptor for Ford Motor Company and General Motors in the automotive industry. He also served as a substitute adjunct faculty instructor at the College for Creative Studies.
In his free time, Nathan was an avid fly fisherman and loved being in nature. He spent countless enjoyable hours fishing the Au Sable River in northern Michigan, exploring the streams and rivers of the Colorado mountains, and traveling with his life partner Liz to lake towns Up North, the California Redwoods, Oregon Coast, and Hocking Hills in Ohio.
Beyond his work and pastimes, family and friends were unquestionably at the heart of Nathan's life. He very much enjoyed spending time with Liz, his family, extended family, and his loyal friends. He loved dogs - especially his childhood dog Maggie, Midge, and the recently departed Charlie, whom he adored alongside Liz.
Nathan is survived by his beloved life partner, Liz Momblanco, his loving parents, John and Diane Bloyer, and his dear brother, Christopher (Natalie) Bloyer. A proud uncle to Colin and Ryan Bloyer, his memory will also be cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial visitation for Nathan will be held on Saturday, August 10, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak.
