Nathan Miles Flight

July 30, 1999 - April 14, 2025

Nathan Miles Flight passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 14, 2025. Only 25 years old, he left behind an incredible amount of people who loved and cared for him.

Nathan was born on July 30th, 1999 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He attended school primarily in the Springfield area and attained his GED from Akron Digital Academy. Nate was taking college courses through Full Sail University, focusing his studies on computer programming. He was most recently so proud of his nomination for membership to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an honor society for achieving a high GPA as a first-year college student. He was excited to study and mentioned how he felt different learning at this point in his life - he felt motivated and looked forward to learning things he was interested in.

Nate was the type of person with an infectious energy that you just wanted to be around. His smile lit up any room he was in. His loud, boisterous laugh made it impossible not to laugh with him (and at him, sometimes). He left an impact on anybody who crossed paths with him. Nathan’s kind soul and willingness to love with all his heart made you feel seen, valued, and beyond special. His playful and goofy demeanor immediately brought a feeling of comfort and ease, especially to his nephews and niece.

Around 2018, Nate’s life took a huge turn when he joined a local fellowship. It was through that experience that he was able to grow in his faith and relationship with God, making connections and friendships in ways that he was never able to before. He authentically shared his story, including all of the struggles that lead him to the point he was at. His faith allowed him to heal pivotal things from the past and move forward with hope. He especially enjoyed the missionary work he was involved in.

Nathan was full of dreams, full of hopes for what his life could look like, and full of adventures that unfortunately he will never get to see through. He enjoyed traveling at every opportunity he could, and loved to be immersed in nature, whether he was climbing a tall tree (and making everyone worry), snapping pictures of spiders, or picking out his favorite rock treasures. His creativity lent him to drawing, and more recently painting beautiful watercolor pictures, a lot of them inspired by nature. Everyone who knew Nathan can attest to his free spirit and thirst for more in life. He wanted those he loved to be protected, cared for, and happy. Although he might disagree with this word, he really, truly was as selfless as a person could be.

Nathan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Milford Flight and his cousin, Courtney Collier. He is survived by his mother, Kathlene Flight; his father, Jason Flight; and his two sisters, Alicia Kranak (Angel Chaires) and Sarah Flight (AKA Gingersnap). He is also survived by his grandparents, Robert & Linda Kranak and Nola Flight; along with his beloved nephews, Matthew Flight & Micah Collins; and his niece, Adrina Chaires. In addition, he is survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, canines, and felines who will cherish his memory forever.

Nathan’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Millheim Baptist Church - located at 2661 Hayne Rd., Akron, OH 44312. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 P.M., followed by a service at 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joni & Friends, an organization serving individuals and families living with disabilities.
