Marlene L. Carr, age 85, passed away on January 17, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on December 28, 1940 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she lived a life filled with creativity, and deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms.

Art was the heartbeat of her world. Whether she was painting or visiting galleries with friends, she found joy in expressing herself through color and imagination. She inspired those around her to see the extraordinary in the everyday. She was a past member of The Women’s Art and studied at the Jack Richards Studio in Cuyahoga Falls. She also enjoyed bowling and fishing. She worked for many dedicated years as a secretary for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Beyond her artistic gifts, she was known for her warmth and her unwavering compassion and kindness. She had a way of making people feel valued and offering encouragement to others was very natural to her. Her family and friends will forever cherish the moments shared in her presence.

She is survived by sons, Jim (Tiffany) Carr, Jr and Ken (Rebekah) Carr; and grandchildren, Zack, Addison, and Sam, who will carry forward her legacy of creativity, kindness, and compassion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Bertha (Klieman) Cramer.

In honoring their loved one’s wishes, the family will not hold visitation or services and encourage loved ones to remember and celebrate the cherished moments shared at www.heckerpatronfuneralhome.com.

The family is grateful to Hecker-Patron Funeral Home for overseeing the arrangements with compassion and professionalism. Her life was a masterpiece — not because of the art she created, but because of the love she gave.
