Nathan Edward Hazen, 44, Carthage, Missouri, passed away on March 22, 2025, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. He was born on November 26, 1980, in Parsons, Kansas, to Charles Hazen and Kimberley Montee. Nathan's life was marked by his loving nature, friendly demeanor, and exceptional handiness.
Nathan attended Carthage High School where he developed a passion for the skills that would define his professional life. He dedicated many years to Lawson's Automotive as a mechanic, a job that suited his love for fixing things and helping others. His work was not just a means of livelihood; it was an extension of his generous spirit, as he often lent his expertise to friends and family in need. He married Nicole Maxon on October 15, 2022, in Lamar, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Nicole Hazen; his father, Charles Hazen; his mother, Kimberley Holman; his children, Alyssa Maxon, Ian Maxon, Mya Barkley, and Carlee Kain; his sister, Christa Lawson; his brothers, Chase Hazen and Jordan Kelley; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many extended family and friends, all of whom will miss him deeply.
Nathan's zest for life was evident in his love for the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, a master of the grill, and an enthusiastic camper. His happiest moments were often found in the tranquility of nature, surrounded by family and friends. Nathan's ability to connect with people was unparalleled; he never met a stranger and had the unique ability to make everyone feel like family.
Per Nathan's wishes, there was cremation. The family will hold services at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
