Nathan Johnson was born December 7, 1944, in Lexington, MS, to the late Rosetta Johnson.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Johnson, grandfather Lonnie Johnson,
and sister Christine Jordan.
He graduated from Amanda Elzey High School in Greenwood, MS in 1962. After graduating
from high school, he attended Rust College, where he received a bachelor's degree in Biology
with a minor in Chemistry. While at Rust College, he was initiated into the Gamma Psi chapter
of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.
For several years, he worked for the South Pike School District and Equitable Life Insurance
Company. He pastored Maranatha Bible Church and founded Maranatha Christian Academy. He
also founded Operation Manhood, where he touched the lives of many. He is the author of the
book Rising Sons.
Nathan loved spending time with his family. He will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of
58 years, Regina Bullock Johnson, his two sons: Stanley (Jodie) Johnson of Clinton, MS, and
Darius Johnson of McComb, MS. Ashley Abraham, his legal guardian daughter of Summit, MS,
and Courtney Robertson granddaughter of Houston, TX. He leaves eight additional
grandchildren: Desmond (Ashley) Johnson, Stacey Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, Dariana Johnson,
Halle Johnson, Ashlyn Abraham, James Abraham III, and Alaina Abraham. He has thirteen
precious great-grandchildren, Cameron Robertson, Addyson Isaac, Morghan Isaac, Caden
Williams, Raegin Isaac, Kayleigh Johnson, Dillan Johnson, Slade Mason, Austin Johnson, Saint
Mason, Zain Williams, Chase Johnson, and Zaiden Williams, one sister Nancy Spencer of
Tucson, Arizona, and one brother Allen C. (Vanessa) Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland. He also
leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and friends.
To Those Who Love Me
Sorry I had to leave you. Don't cry for me with your tears. Be happy we had so many years. I
gave you Love. We had many good times together as a family and with friends. Hold up your
heads with joy for me, God has called me home.
