It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nathan "Nate" Nickerson at the age of 41 from a heart attack on April 8 th, 2025. Born on December 2,1983, in Jacksonville, FL, Nate passed away at his home surrounded by family in
Chesapeake, VA.
Anyone that knew Nate knew he would do anything to make sure everyone was happy, he would give you the shirt off his back even if it was the only one, he had. Known by many affectionate nicknames, such as Coco, Nato-Gato, Nate the great, Natie Natie, Nater Gater, Nate the Skate, and best friend, but no matter how you knew him he always had a smile for you and knew how to make you laugh. He was such a character and had special connections with everyone he met. Everywhere Nate went he ran into someone he knew. He had hundreds of friends, and he loved every one of them. Nate loved to gamble and was very lucky at it. He would win big but then he would spend even bigger. He was and still is the biggest Jets fan anyone has ever known. He always thought they would win and never wavered from his support of them. He is still cheering them on.
Nate left so many loved ones behind. He was taken from us all way too soon. Nate was a beloved son to his parents Bob and Pam Nickerson. He was a cherished brother to Lynn King, Colleen Nickerson, Jason and Dawn Nickerson and Ian and Amy Nickerson. He was very close to his nephew Lebron King and who was not only his uncle but also had a special bond with him. Nate also leaves behind his two older brothers' children: Damon, Makayla, Jaden, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, Kamdyn, and Kason. Nate was loved by his Aunt "Sam" Sandra Luciano and Uncle Miles Rappaport. He was a loving cousin to Jeff Luciano, Ross Rappaport, as well as Tanya and Ashley Connor.
A memorial service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home 929 S. Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake VA 23322 on April 28th, 2025, at 11:11am. Following the service, anyone who wants to continue celebrating Nate's legacy, we will be meeting at Big Woody's, 123 N. Battlefield Blvd. Suite H,
