Nathan Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shawn Chapman Funeral Home - Chatsworth on Mar. 1, 2025.
Nathan Travis Smith, age 34, born on January 25, 1991, passed away on February 28, 2025. Nathan was the most caring, big-hearted, and helpful man you could ever have around. He was always seen lending a hand or volunteering to help anyone in need. His strong work ethic and unwavering support made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Above all, Nathan loved spending time with his son, Emmitt, and being a father more than anything else. His joy in fatherhood was evident in every moment they shared, and he instilled in Emmitt the values of kindness, generosity, and perseverance. He was born and raised in Murray County and spent his life dedicated to his family and friends.
Nathan is preceded in death by his loving mother, Darlin Smith; grandparents Frank and Mollie Royston, Delbert and Pat Smith, Jake and Marie Hintz; aunt Joann Brinker; and aunt Sandy Royston.
Survived by the light of his life, his son, Emmitt Smith, fiance; Karina Silva Perez, father and step-mom; Dennis and Trella Smith, brother and sister-in-law; Jug and Aspen Smith; aunts and uncles Faye and Leon Brindle, Keith and Denise Royston, Dwayne Royston, Dale Smith, David and Rita Smith, Nancy and Ken Lee. Cousins Chip Brindle (Rachel), Annie Brindle (Jake), Jenny Roberts (Philip), Amy McConnell (Johnny), Lauren (DT) Cordry, Jason Royston (Holly), Cale Royston.
Nathan exemplified a strong work ethic throughout his life, tirelessly providing for his family and instilling the values of diligence and hard work. He was committed to working on Brindles's race team and loved being at the racetrack. You'd also see him grilling, fishing, hunting, or watching his favorite team, the Florida Gators. More than anything, Nathan was passionate about being a daddy and sharing the most time he could with Emmitt. Nathan's legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire us
