Nathaniel Ivan Gonzales, 40, passed away unexpectedly at 10:17pm on August 18, 2025. He spent his last moments with his wife, daughter, and son, in their home in Houston, TX.

Nathan was born on Lakenheath Air Force Base in England, to Carlos Gonzales and Lita Gonzales. He was the second born, after his sister Valerie, and was big brother to Charles, Amanda, and William.

The family moved around quite often, ending up Tucson, El Paso, Guam, Saipan, and Houston. Nathan spent most of his formative years on the island of Guam, but he entered high school in Houston, TX.

Nathan met Nikki, his future wife, at a show in Houston. Together they spent a period of time in Austin, TX before moving to California. They were married on August 30, 2014 in San Francisco. It was in Oakland that they adopted their pit mix Isabella (Izzy), purchased their first home and had their first child - Elsa Margret.

They moved to the Seattle area in 2018 where their son Finn Ivan was born. In 2020, they decided they wanted to be closer to family and moved back to TX. They spent some time in McGregor in Central TX before finally making it back to Houston in 2022.

Nathan was the heart of his family. He was a full-time father and primary caregiver in the family. Nathan took great pride in raising his kids. He had a magnetic personality that brought joy to everyone around him. He was authentically himself and could make a friend out of almost anybody.

Nathan is survived by his wife Hulda "Nikki" Gonzales, daughter Elsa, son Finn, mother Lita, sister Valerie, brother Charles, sister Amanda, and brother William. He is preceded in passing by his father Carlos.
