Nathaniel "Nate" Woods Sr., 67, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, June 22nd, at Aultman Hospital. Born in Cleveland on April 26, 1955, a son of the late Agatha Woods-Heard and Albert Lee Woods, Sr., also preceded in death by his soul mate and companion for over 40 years, Carolyn Hastings, died July 18, 2018; 2 brothers Michael and James Woods; paternal grandmother, with whom he shared a special bond, Lorraine Gee; 2 sisters-in-law Cleola Peterson, Lisa Hastings and brother-in-law Larry Hastings. Nate was a Jr. Deacon at Sacrificial Missionary Baptist Church of Cleveland in his younger years. A lover of music, he always enjoyed having a good time. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Jill Hastings, of the home; 2 sons Nathaniel "Nate" Woods Jr., of Cleveland, Derrick "Deuce" Hastings, of Canton; 2 sisters Cassandra "Sandy" (Charles) Jones, Felicia Woods; brother Albert Lee "Junie" Woods Jr.; sister-in-law Elizabeth Ann Daniels and 2 brothers-in-law Ronald "Ronnie" Hastings and Duey Daniels as well as several grandchildren and many other family members, extended family members and beloved friends, including special friend Joanna "Jo" Thompson. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.
