In Loving Memory of Nazar K. Logvis
March 28, 1988 – June 21, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of Nazar Logvis, a devoted husband, loving father, and faithful servant of God. On June 21, 2025, Nazar was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind his beloved wife, Kayla, and their four daughters.
Nazar was a man of strong faith, compassion, and humility. He loved his family deeply and lived to serve others with a Christ-like heart.
Born on March 28, 1988, in Ternopil, Ukraine, Nazar was the fourth of six children born to Kostyantyn and Galina Logvis. In 1997, the Logvis family immigrated to the United States, settling in
Binghamton, New York. He attended Binghamton High School, where he met the love of his life, Kayla Brown. The two were married on June 13, 2009, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service.
Nazar went on to study civil engineering at SUNY Broome Community College and SUNY Polytechnic Institute. He worked for many years as an inspector, designer, and professional engineer in Broome County, overseeing projects both in the private sector and for the state. He loved what he did and often took on building projects in his free time.
Nazar's true calling, however, was in ministry. A devoted member of his home church in Binghamton, he faithfully served as a youth leader, preacher, and deacon. He participated in missionary trips to Ukraine and Kenya, and was passionate about spreading the good news of the Gospel. Nazar was a worshiper at heart-his love for Jesus was evident in how he prayed, how he preached, and how he lived.
Above all else, Nazar cherished his family. He adored his four daughters-Abigail, Maria, Aubrey, and Autumn-and filled their lives with adventure, laughter, and love. Whether riding bikes, getting ice cream, building bridges together, sledding, or four-wheeling, Nazar made every moment with his girls count.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Kayla, and their children; his parents, Kostyantyn and Galina Logvis; his siblings and their spouses: Zina and Alex Makosiy, Maksim and Inna Logvis, Irina and Oleg Makosiy, Nadiya and Eli Zhushma, and Taras and Sophia Logvis. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Nazar's life was a testimony to the grace of God. He will be remembered for his fiery spirit, sense of humor, steadfast faith, and the legacy of love and service he leaves behind. Though his time with us was far too short, we rejoice in the hope of heaven and the promise that we will see him again.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
