Ned May

Ned May, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home. He was born November 12, 1938 to the late Ralph and Hassie May. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Thomas and Vivian Winters; and brothers, R.G. May and Edward May.

 

Ned was a simple man who enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and rabbit hunting. He also enjoyed camping and throwing horse shoes. He loved playing with his grandkids  and watching Carolina basketball. Ned enjoyed evenings playing Rook with his beloved family. He was a devoted member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he was saved at the age of 9.

 

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of over 38 years, Anita May; daughter, Rachel Wall (Jody); son, Jeremy Moretz (Crystal); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Bill McGuire, Derrick Wilson, and Phil Arnold officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow from the Potter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
