Glenn Patrick Maxwell, age 80, of Mountain City, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. A native of Mountain City, he was born to the late Truman N. Maxwell and Della Patrick Maxwell. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife Margie.
Glenn was a graduate of Johnson County High School. He worked at Greever and Walsh, Tom’s Body Shop and at Northeast Correctional Complex as a Correctional Officer until he retired. Glenn never really “retired” as he was continually on the go working in his yard, on his cars, lawn mowers, or his home. Whether he felt like it or not, he stayed busy and it showed as he never looked his age. His favorite things in life were collecting guns, good food (especially soup beans and corn bread), country music, watching old westerns on TV, NASCAR racing, or sitting and petting his fur baby, Tigger. He took pleasure in the simple things in life.
Those left to cherish his memories are his sister, Eva M. Maxwell; his brother Truman N. Maxwell (Mack); sister-in-law, Betty Maxwell; his loving fur baby, Tigger, and lifelong friends, Tom Icenhour, June Canter,Russel Canter, and Elmer Potter. He is also survived by his many friends in Mountain City who are too numerous to mention because everyone loved him.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 on Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at Reece Memorial Cemetery with Danny Cullop officiating.
The family respectfully requests no food.
Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
