Neil Castren Obituary

Of Clarence, passed away peacefully at age 87, after several months of declining health. Neil was the fifth of six children of his late parents, Arne and Ida (nee Stafford) Castren. Neil is the brother of Arnold (Alice) Castren, Nancy (late Harry) Bonazelli, Dean (Suzanne) Castren and the late Elaine (Howard) Rowley and Kay Fisher. Neil was predeceased by his best friend and life partner, the late Kenneth Misa. Neil is survived by many nieces and nephews. He graduated from Clarence High School and after graduating from Michigan State University in 1960, he embarked on a long career in the food service industry in California and Washington State. Neil returned to Western New York after he retired several years ago to be near family. His fondest enjoyments were playing tennis, traveling to distant destinations around the world, especially entertaining his many friends at cordial social gatherings. A private service will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Neil's name to Hospice-Buffalo, Inc., 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227.
