He grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, before relocating to Atlanta in 1955 to attend Georgia Tech. Neil graduated in 1959 with a degree in Engineering and went on to have a distinguished 34-year career with IBM. After retiring, he continued his work with AT&T, remaining active and engaged throughout his life.
Neil proudly served in the Air Force Reserves during the Bay of Pigs crisis in October 1962, demonstrating his commitment to his country.

Neil is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Linda Carl Lesser; his son Joel Lesser; his daughter Karen and her husband Matt Humphrey; his sister Sandy and her husband Chuck Marcus; his brother Phil and his wife Gracia Lesser; and his sister-in-law Bonnie and her husband Rick Marcus. He also was the proud grandfather to six cherished grandchildren.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Neil had a passion for music. He enjoyed singing in various choirs and often filled his home with song. He was also an avid computer enthusiast, always tinkering or learning something new.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 201 Mount Vernon Hwy, Atlanta, GA 30328.
