Neil Hudnall Smith

Neil Hudnall Smith, of Madison Heights, passed away on April 27, 2024. He was born on March 5, 1934, a son of the late James Herbert Smith and Beatrice Nash Smith.

Neil was a graduate of Randolph Henry High School and Phillips Business College. After graduating college, Neil enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany.

Neil retired from SunTrust Bank as Vice President/Loan Officer. He found solace in being outdoors and woodworking in his free time.

In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by the mother to his son, Kathryn R. Jordan; and his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Smith.

Neil is survived by his son, Wallace Smith; daughter, Trisha Coomer; stepson, Bryan Stanford; ten grandchildren, Gage Smith, Gavin Smith, Wesley Stanford, Bryce Stanford, Lindsey Stanford, Jacob Coomer, Alex Coomer, Isaac Coomer, Hannah Coomer, and Joy Coomer

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Madison Heights Baptist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Madison Heights Baptist Church Choir, or the American Cancer Society.
