Nellie Frances Henley February 2,1935 - August 29, 2025 Nellie passed away at home surrounded by the ones she held most dear. She is now in the gracious arms of JESUS, free of the dementia that consumed her life for the past few years, stealing her memories of love, family, friends and a life that was well lived. Born Nellie Frances Sanders on February 2, 1935, in Ashford, Alabama, to Walter and Valeta Sanders. Her family moved to Graceville, Florida where she spent her childhood years with five brothers and two sisters, who loved each other dearly and stayed close all through the years. Nellie spent most of her life in
Pensacola, Florida, where she was a cherished mother and friend. She started her own family here with six children, and later, twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Nellie was known for her passion for serving CHRIST and for unwavering love and support for her family. She lived her life bringing GOD glory. She had a giving, kind, gentle spirit that made everyone that knew her feel welcomed and loved. She was a fierce competitor, which shined the most when she played basketball on her high school team, on her bowling league, and when she played games with her family at gatherings. She loved fishing, especially with her brothers and sisters, canning, cooking, crafting and sewing. Most of all she loved her grandchildren, making a point to show her support by attending every game, competition, you name it she was there. She was a prayer warrior, proving to her children the power a praying mother actually has over their lives. To GOD be the glory. She was a good standing member of Mount Zion Bible Church where she also worked in their print shop spreading the message of JESUS and HIS love and mercy for all of HIS children. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Sanders; her loving mother Valeta Sanders; her brothers, Billy Sanders, Ralph Sanders, Herman Sanders, and Sherman Sanders; her sister Mary Sheffield, her first husband James Jones and second husband Jack Henley, and her precious son Shad Jones.
