Nellie E. Perry

Nellie Elizabeth Perry, 90, of Winchester, formally of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the FW Huston Senior Living Center in Winchester. She was born August 1, 1932 in Quinter, KS., the Daughter of Walter S. and Edith A. McElroy Milroy. She was a 1950 graduate of Winchester High School and worked as a cook for Oskaloosa public schools USD 341, as the city clerk of Oskaloosa, and at the Oskaloosa Flower Shop. She was a member and attended the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Winchester. She married David A. Perry on November 28, 1957 in Winchester. They were both very active members of the community. David proceeded her in death on December 27, 1998. Except for the last few years, Nellie lived in Oskaloosa for over 60 years. "She was known by most, and loved by all". Survivors include one Son, Philip (Rhonda) Perry, Oskaloosa, and one daughter Catherine (Fred) Smelser, Oskaloosa, two Brothers, Leland Milroy, Wellsville, KS., Robert Milroy, Prairie Village, KS, and one Sister, Joan Adams of Oskaloosa. Four grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two Brothers Eugene and Gary Milroy. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Barnett Family Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Inurnment will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
