Nellie Margaret Treece, 85, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.
Margaret was born May 13, 1939 in North Carolina to the late William Robert Plummer and the late Josephine Simmons Plummer.
She was also preceded in death by sister, Flonnie Smith; and infant son, Michael Ray Treece.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm, Monday, August 26, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside will follow at 2:00 pm at Canton Baptist Church located at 24615 Endy Rd. Albemarle officiated by Pastor Darrell Nance and Pastor Adam Hatley.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Some of her favorite pastimes were spent tending to her garden, going to auction sales, playing bingo, quilting, and listening to blue-grass gospel. But her most cherished memories were all the times she got to be with her family and her husband Luther to whom she has been married to for 63 years. Margaret was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord with all her heart. She had a heart of gold will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include husband, Luther Ray Treece; son, Tony (Angel) Treece; daughter, Penny (Darrell) Nance; sister, Mabel Huneycutt; brother, Lonnie (Madeleine) Plummer; grandchildren, Matthew (Peggy) Treece, Misty Coley; great-grandchildren, Mattison Treece, Landon Coley, and Olivia Treece; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend their heart-felt gratitude to the staff at Forrest Oakes, 620 Heathwood Drive, Albemarle, NC 28001, or to Tillery Hospice Care ( Tillery Compassionate Care ) for all that they have done for Margaret.
