Mr. Nelson Eugene Barrington, Jr., age 66, entered into rest on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2025 at New Providence Baptist Church by Pastor Cliff Leonard with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the church prior to the service on Friday.
Mr. Barrington was born on May 1, 1958 in Hamlet, NC a son of the late Nelson Eugene and Dessie Brigman Barrington. Nelson had a strong work ethic and he labored in the textile industry for more than 47 years. He was a faithful attendant of New Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Barrington loved the Lord and he made this known by not only his words, but also his character. Nelson enjoyed spending time outdoors with his loved ones, fishing and shopping at yard sales. He also enjoyed following his Green Bay Packers and Florida State Seminoles. Most of all, Nelson loved his family, especially his son Nicholas, who was his pride and joy.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrington was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Parker, Regina Wallace, and Dorothy Huff.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Vonda Stevens Barrington of the home; son, Nicholas Barrington of Society Hill, SC; cousin, Steve Brigman of Wallace, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to New Providence Baptist Church, 1884 Antioch Rd, Hartsville, SC 29550.
