It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nelson Gilberto Lescano, age 81, of Paterson, New Jersey passed away abruptly on March 22nd, 2025, where he was surrounded by his loving family. Nelson was born on August 18th, 1943 to Jose Justiniano Lescano Castillo and Martha Chaman Lescano, in Chetilla, Cajamarca, Peru.
Lescano, as many commonly referred to him as, was a ray of sunshine to all that had privilege of being graced with his presence. His time on earth will be remembered by his love, compassion, his need to help others, and his unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and those who were touched by him. He was loved by all, and was the respected patriarch of the family. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but the way it was lived, and the ever-lasting mark he left on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Nelson is survived by his loving wife, Maria Lescano, whom he devoted 52 years of his life, and his son Nelson Lescano, who will carry on his legacy, so that he may never be forgotten.
Those who knew Nelson, will remember him by his deep-rooted faith in Jesus, his commitment to spreading love and kindness, or aiding those who were in need. He was loved by all, and had a talent of making others smile and laugh, turning even the cloudiest of days into sunshine. He may no longer be with us in the physical sense, but his spirit will continue to be an inspiration, uplifting us even in the darkest of moments.
