About
Nelson Sheehan Obituary
Born in Norwich, the youngest of eight children, to Thomas and Agnes (Hansen) Sheehan, June 14, 1932. He was predeceased by all his siblings: Thomas Sheehan, Dorothy DeRosier, Margaret Stallings, Eileen Gross, Richard Sheehan , Elizabeth Pringer and Mary O'Connell; and daughter in law Beth Sheehan.
A graduate of NFA, he was a decent and hardworking man. He was a United States Navy Reservist aboard the USS Corsair as a torpedo man and worked as a diemaker at Atlantic Carton Corporation. He was active at Christ Episcopal Church and volunteered many years at the soup kitchen. In his free time he enjoyed golf, watching UCONN girls' basketball and vacationing with his wife. In his last years we would always find him sitting in the sun, dressed always in shorts at Elmbrook Village. A special thanks to the staff for their support and kind care.
A loving father and grandfather, "Pops" leaves behind his three children: Lynn (Guy) Sheehan Patalano of Mystic, Mark Sheehan of Norwich and John (Liz) Sheehan of New Smyrna Beach; Three grandchildren: Christopher (Sandy) Sheehan, Kevin (Nora) Sheehan and Jacquelin (TJ) Lillo; Four great grandchildren: Rosie, Lina, Sebastian and Hugo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed.
Burial will be private and attended by immediate family.
