Neva Diane Smith-Barnes

Neva Diane Smith-Barnes departed this earthly life on October 21, 2025, at UW Health Swedish American Hospital. Born September 8, 1970, to Steven Wessels and Janice Smith, Neva was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Paul Barnes and together they built a life filled with love and family. Neva attended Belvidere High School and was known for being a wonderful homemaker. Her home was a cherished weekend getaway for friends and family, reflecting her love for those around her.

Neva leaves behind her loving husband, Paul; her father, Steven Wessels; her son, Cory Bourbon and his wife Dorothy; her daughter, Larisa Melecio; and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Israel Delgado and his wife Jaime, and Armondo Delgado; her sister, Esperanza Solis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Janice Smith, and her son, Jayme Ray Barnes.
