In loving memory of Newton Owen Whiddon, born on August 14,1968 and passed away unexpectedly on April 4,2023. Son of Frederic Calvin Whiddon and Laura "Arnetta" Whiddon. He was the devoted husband of Susan Whiddon and loving father of Stephanie Delvecchio, Kenzie Whiddon and Skyelar Garnett Hale. He was a loving brother to Tracy Epps and Tara Roxanne Zerm Anderson. He had two nephews Trent and Conner Zerm and three grandkids, Aiden Delvecchio, Samantha Mora and Nova Mora. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Newton was born in San Antonio. Most of his school years were at Canyon Lake, Bandera and Austin. Once out of school he mostly lived in San Antonio and Austin and once he married Susan his new home would be Kyle.
One of the kindest souls on the planet, he was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He was a tough guy and when it came to his wife, kids, grandkids and especially his bulldog he was a teddy bear.
Early in life, Newton learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for us even if we just needed a shoulder to cry on. He was even there when didn't think we needed him at all. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what's right.
Newton loved spending time with his family, friends and especially his dog Bleu. He loved taking his wife Susan on new adventures in the Jeep. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football, grilling food, riding his scooters and walking his dog. Newton had many friends and was known around as Newt and to his wife, "Big O Boy."
He was a true role model to his family and friends. He engrained it in our heads that the Longhorns were always #1, your favorite color is burnt orange, OU still sucks, you never give up on the Cowboys (no matter how bad they play) and when you argue get mad, get over it and never go to bed angry.
Dad, Papa, Newt and Big O Boy, you were taken from us too soon. We will always love you and we miss you so much!
Celebration of life to be held at The Fellowship Church at Plum Creek 160 Grace Street in Kyle on Saturday May 6th at 11:00am.
