Nhat Minh "Tony" Doan

Nhat "Tony" Minh Doan, 49, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away July 17, 2023. He was born June 17, 1974 in Saigon, Vietnam. He moved to the United States in 1992. Tony was at a bowling alley playing pool, when he was approached by a young lady who gave him her phone number. That young lady, Heather Herndon, would teach him English and would eventually become his wife. They spent over 30 years together and raised five kids.
Tony was employed by Vance Brothers the last couple of years and enjoyed working there. He loved cars, car decals, modifying cars, his BMW, but he especially loved his Mustang. He treated everyone like family, and was a brother to all who met him. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His greatest joy was his family but nothing made him more happy then spoiling his youngest granddaughter Athena who lovingly called him "Bobo".
Survivors include his wife Heather Herndon; children Gaige Herndon, Angie Doan and husband Courtney Attaway, Alexis Doan, Poelo Doan and Myloe Doan and wife Jessica Banda; grandchildren Athena Attaway and Allisyn Herndon, along with Myloe and Jessica's expectant baby, which would be Tony's third grandchild; mother Huong Inguyen; brother Hau Doan; sister Van Doan; nieces Jennifer Lindsey and Emily Nguyen; sister-in-law Krissy Chanthabury (Jennifer Bradford) and her children Emelee, Alyxs, Davihn and Chaz Chanthabury.
Visitation will be 2pm, followed by a traditional Vietnamese service at 3pm, Friday, July 28, 2023 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri 64133.
