Niad “Miso” Rujevic, age 66, of Celebration, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Sjenica, Serbia to the late Mulaz and Emina Jukic Rujevic. He shared his life with his beloved partner, Sherry Lewis, Celebration, Florida, for the past 18 years.
He is survived by his former wife, Jasmina Isovic Rujevic, and their sons, Vakey Rujevic and Senol Rujevic. He also leaves behind Sherry’s children, Trent and Michael, who considered him part of their family, along with their spouses and children.
He is also survived by his sister Muradija “Lula” Rujevic Huljevic (Ramo) and two brothers Nuradin “Mikica” Rujevic (Hada), and Izuden “Ice” Rujevic (Sadida) and many family members in Europe.
Miso was a Leo who embodied many qualities of a lion: Strong-willed, brave, passionate, and determined. He followed his own path and didn’t allow social norms to dictate his life. These qualities ultimately led him to leave Serbia during the Yugoslav Wars to create a better life for himself and his family.
There were many challenges along the way, but full of grit, he pushed through all of them while maintaining his sense of humor and love for life. Like a lion, he is a protector of his family and friends, always looking out for them and ensuring they are taken care of. Miso will be remembered for his gentle generosity, his devotion to family, and the steady support he gave to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved and dearly missed son, Elvis Rujevic.
He worked 16 years at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and most recently for the past seven years with The Walt Disney World Riviera Resort Family where he received two quarterly awards by the management in recognition of his outstanding job performance, service, quality and dedication to the policy and tradition of the Walt Disney World Resort.
A private service was held locally for his immediate family, and a future celebration of his life with his family in Europe is planned.
