Susan DeNardis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and partner, Sue, who departed this world after a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer. She faced her illness with unwavering humor and deep humility, teaching us all about grace in the face of adversity.

Later in life, Sue was fortunate to find a true companion in Walter Ronald Nock (Ron), her beloved partner of 16 years. Whether (carefully and slowly) trekking across continents, cruising across seas, playing cards, or enjoying quiet moments at home, they shared a remarkable bond built on adventure, laughter, and a true zest for life.

When not traveling, she cherished her time with friends and family-whether playing bridge or mahjong, or simply welcoming friends and family with open arms. In her younger years, she created a warm and joyful home for her children, a place where laughter was abundant, the fridge was always stocked, and friends were always welcome. Her years as a high school teacher left her with supersonic hearing- nothing ever got past her. Her legendary Christmas Eve party was the talk of the town. Her homemade lasagna and gnocchi rivaled any five-star restaurant. Her nails were always manicured, and she was always well accessorized, even in her final days.

Sue is survived by her loving children, Dr. Michael DeNardis (Michelle) and Julie Lardenoit (Stefan), four adoring grandchildren Dexter DeNardis, Porter DeNardis, Florence Lardenoit, and Bella DeNardis, and her steadfast partner Ron Nock, who stood by her side through every step of her journey.

She will be remembered for her strength, wit, generosity of spirit, and the deep love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched around the world and the memories she created with her friends and family.

In lieu of flowers or food, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org/ or a donation of blood or platelets to the American Red Cross https://www.redcrossblood.org/, a critical need for cancer patients. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in her adopted hometown of Celebration, Florida at a later date.

My last contact with Sue was her birthday last February, and thinking about her, I looked at FB and found the sad news of her loss. We had a lot of history - from the early years of GMI to our young families to New Years Eve celebrations at Roma Hall (!) to time spent at the cottage out near Howell/Brighton. I was so mortified that she kept the container of "fishing worms" in the refrigerator!
I´m sure that all those who knew her were glad for the time they had.
Our condolences to her family,
Michael & Cheryl Bzdok

Sue was one of the sweetest people that I met while living in Celebration. She was the one to take me on as a partner in bridge full knowing I was not that good. She always had a warm welcoming smile for all. A really good woman.
