Greece- Passed away September 28, 2022 at age 83. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Kim; daughter Kate "Nhung"(Thanh) Nguyen; son Tom (Tuyet); grandchildren Emma & Jasmine Nguyen, Kim (Bob) Carey, Michael, Thao, Julian, & Eliana Bui.
Nicholas was a lieutenant in the South Vietnamese Army special forces and fought alongside the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. During his service, he and a few other soldiers were secretly transported into North Vietnam, usually by helicopter, and dropped behind enemy lines conducting surveillance to report back to the US military. He also frequently engaged in firefights and was wounded in 1971.
He devoted his life to his family. He was the pillar of his family and an ever present source of strength and resilience; he will sorely be missed.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Friday September 30 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral Home, 777 Long Pond Road. Funeral mass 8:00 AM Saturday, October 1 at The Parish of the Holy Family.
