Nicholas Lamar Carter, affectionately known as Big Nick, Shorty Mac, June June, and Jr, was born on March 20, 1970, in Dallas, Texas. He brought immense joy and love into the world during his time with us, which sadly came to an end on November 7, 2025, also in Dallas. Nicholas was a devoted maintenance man and grounds keeper, but more importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and friend who made everyone around him feel cared for.
A graduate of L.G. Pinkston High School, Nicholas's down-to-earth charm was matched only by his love for family. He was a handyperson in every sense, able to fix anything that came his way, whether it be cars, trucks, or household items. His talents were not just limited to fixing things; he was also an amazing cook who cherished the moments spent preparing homemade meals, ensuring that everyone in his life was well taken care of.
Nicholas’s fun-loving personality shone through in every facet of his life. He made sure his beloved wife, Freda Carter, felt cherished and secure, embodying the essence of a protector and provider. Together, they nurtured a loving household filled with warmth and laughter. His children held a special place in his heart, and to them, he was not only a father but also their staunchest supporter and the embodiment of strength.
In his spare time, Nicholas could often be found cleaning or working on his beloved vehicles, always finding joy in the little things. His passion for life and unwavering dedication to his family left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His caring nature and selflessness made those around him grateful for the moments shared, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
A viewing in honor of Nicholas will take place on November 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas. This will be followed by his funeral service on November 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM, also at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas (Allene).
Nicholas Lamar Carter will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of his loving wife, Freda, his cherished children, and a host of other relatives and friends who were graced by his remarkable life.
