Obituary
Nicholas Anthony Cirillo, age 88, of The Bronx, NY passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his home, with his family by his side. Nicholas was born on August 12, 1935 in New York, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph and Carmela (Fusco) Cirillo.
In October of 1953, Nicholas enlisted and served his country in the Army of the United States of America. He was honorably discharged in July of 1955.
He was employed as a Detective in the New York Police Department, Vice President of New York City Off Track Betting, and a member of the New York Harness Writer's Association.
He is survived by his children, Ronnie, and John (Dee), his adored grandchildren, Nicholas Vaccarello, Lauren Vaccarello, Jenna Valente, James Ellerby, Joseph Ellerby, Nicholas Ellerby, and Gianna Cirillo.
Dear brother of Joseph (Marge) Cirillo, Ann Marie (Dominick) Monteleone, and his sister-in-law Olga. Also, survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends and colleagues.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Barbara, and dear brother Vincent (a.k.a Jimmy) and his sister Grace Killeen and her husband Jack.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Ralph Giordano Funeral Home, 1727 Crosby Ave., Bronx, NY on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Nicholas at St Theresa Church, 2855 St Theresa Ave., Bronx, NY on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY on Friday, October 28, 2023 at 11:30 with Army Military Honors.
