Nicholas "Slick" Patrick Cote, 32, passed away at home in New Gloucester on Saturday, December 17 th,
2022.
Born on Jan. 10 th, 1990, to Gregory and Debra Cote in Portland, Maine. He attended Gray New
Gloucester High School, where we met many of his lifelong friends. Having developed a love for
trucking at a young age, he obtained his CDL at the age of 18. It truly was the early years spent
riding around in the tractor trailer with his father that inspired him to become a master behind the
wheel.
Nick was a jack of all trade; he was not afraid to get his hands dirty. Whether that was driving a
truck, cutting down trees or laying down pavement-there wasn't anything he couldn't do. If he
wasn't working, he was an avid outdoors lover. His passion was for fishing for trout in the local
lakes of Maine, bird hunting in the Allagash, cruising Sebago lake in the pontoon with his
family, camping Baileys campground, spending his winter days ice fishing on Sabbathday Lake
or snowmobiling the trails in Rangeley. Many of his fondest memories were 'uptah' camp. Nick
enjoyed the simple life of cooking for an army on the charcoal grill, a fire in the back yard with
family and friends or simply cracking a cold beer at the mill on a Friday night. Above all else, he
was the most loving father, partner, son and friend. If you called Nick, he was always there to
lend a hand.
Nicholas is predeceased by his grandparents Yvonne and Donald Cote, grandfather Manford
Rideout. He is survived by his parents Greg and Deb, brother Chris and wife Becky; sister
Haylee and fiancé Mike, younger sisters Myah, Leah; close cousin Lindsey; his beloved 91-year-
old Nana, Patricia; his lifelong love and the mother his children Meg, and his two treasured sons,
Hunter and Trevor. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He
will be laid to rest with his grandfather Manford, who he affectionally called Gramps.
Visiting hours will be 4-8pm on Tuesday, December 27 th, 2022 at Wilson's Funeral Home, 24
Shaker Rd., Gray, ME 04039. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28 th,
2022, at 10 am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 24 N Raymond Rd., Gray, ME 04039.
