Nicholas D'Alessio, 81, of Port Reading passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Jersey City, Nicholas was a longtime resident of Port Reading. He was a veteran of the U.S Army serving from 1963 - 1966 and was employed and retired from PSE&G as a machinist mechanic in Sewaren. Nick was also Ex-Fire Chief with the Port Reading Fire Department and a member of the former Don Bosco Knights of Columbus.
Nick was predeceased by his parents, Emilio and Josephine D'Alessio and his brother, Ralph D'Alessio. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jane Abbott; children, Nicholas P. D'Alessio with his wife Jen, Michael D. D'Alessio with his wife Danielle and Amanda J. D'Alessio; grandchildren, Nicholas P. Jr., Gracie, Michael D. Jr., Anthony D., Joseph F. and Amelia J. along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 9pm at CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading. Private cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nicholas may be made to New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Edison. The Port Reading First Aid Squad or Port Reading Fire Department.
