Victoria Michaels D'Alessio

Victoria Michaels D'Alessio, 91 of Wall Township, N.J., passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of immigrant parents from Cyprus, Greece, she grew up in Astoria, Queens, before settling in West Caldwell, NJ and subsequently Montville, NJ for many years. Eventually, she retired to Wall Township. Victoria dedicated 40+ years to a career in education. Valediction of her high school, she went on to graduate from Queens College and earned two additional master's degrees in education. She began her career as a teacher of English, became Chairperson of the English department and subsequently a Vice Principal at Barringer High School in Newark, NJ before retiring at the age of 68. Even in retirement, she still worked occasionally as a substitute principal in local elementary schools.
Vicki was an accomplished classical pianist and received training at the Juilliard School of Music in Manhattan. A voracious reader, she was also an avid cook, a talented gardener, and a passionate world traveler. As a snowbird, she cherished spending time at her home in Naples, Florida.
She was predeceased by her husband of twenty-one years, Joseph A. D'Alessio.
Victoria is survived by her loving children, Michelle E. Caulfield (John) and Michael V. Manfro (Pamela). She was a loving and devoted grandmother to Johnny, Carleigh and Ian Caulfield, Brittany DeFina and Lexie and Jacqueline Manfro.
A Memorial Visitation in honor of Victoria's life will be held on Friday, March 21 from 4-8 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Central Park Conservancy (Tulips & Daffodils program) or the charity of your choice.
