On August 30, 2024, Nicholas Anthony Daskalakis passed away peacefully; devoted father to Natalie Antonakas and her husband, Jason; Kelli Daskalakis and her family; Stasia Daskalakis; loving Papou to Ellie, Nicholas and Maya Antonakas. He is also survived by his brothers Michael Lakis, Andrew Daskalakis and his wife Barbara, and John Daskalakis Sr., his sister Irene and her husband Ronald Reckenwald, many nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his parents, Alekos and Kalliopi Daskalakis.
Nick was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 2, 1944. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and attended Drexel University. Nick started his career bartending and serving at The Prime Rib. He was also in the Army Reserves as a Maintenance Helicopter Pilot and later as a cook. Nick owned and operated the Beehive Restaurant, Baltimore, with his brother, John from 1970-1980 and then took over as sole owner until 1990. Always an entrepreneur Nick started his own mortgage company and later opened another restaurant with his brother John. Nick enjoyed golfing and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.
Friends and family may call at Ruck Funeral Home 1050 York Rd. Towson, MD 21204 on Wednesday, September 4 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 2504 Cub Hill Rd Parkville MD 21234 on Thursday, September 5th at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church's Philoptochos Society.
